I run a mailing list for discussing behavior by or with a family member, an entire family, or friends of the family that have been considered inappropriate or even immoral. The days of ladies being covered from head to toe have been replaced with clothes that expose the whole body. Males and females have a closer physical contact within the family than they ever did before. Have our moral standards changed? Is it okay, now, to see and touch each other? What, now, is inappropriate and what is forbidden? From casual teasing and flirting just for fun or to get something in return, to blatent exhibitionism and lewd behavior, kids sometimes behave with a family member, or friend of the family, in ways that are meant to cause arrousal. What should parents do about this? Should they ignore it, disipline it, or sit down and discuss it? What about parents who might actually incourage it or do the same thing themselves? Nudist families see each other naked all the time, while others think it is shocking to be seen in one's underclothes or wear a skimpy swimsuit in public. Some kids learn about sex first hand by watching their parents, or someone visiting their house, while others won't know a thing about it until they get married. Many people have found they get excited by being watched, or being allowed to watch someone else. Everyone would agree kissing is okay ...but how far can it go with someone watching? What do you feel about this? How far, if at all, do things go in your house, with you, with your family? What do you consider going too far?
